Tucker Named MIAA Player of the Week

Alma, Mich. - Sophomore second baseman Cassidy Tucker (Coleman, Mich. / Coleman) of the Alma College softball team has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association player of the week, as announced by the league on Monday (March 5).

In the team's first week of action, Tucker recorded a hit in all 12 of Alma's games, including three doubles, a triple and a solo home run. The team's leadoff batter, she leads the conference in batting average (.512), on-base percentage (.563), hits (22) and total bases (30) among players who have had at least 20 at-bats. Tucker is also tied for the team lead in walks (four) and is third in slugging percentage (.698).

In the field, Tucker has 18 putouts and 29 assists in 50 chances for a fielding percentage of .940.

Alma's has over a week off before its next game. It will host Ohio Northern University on Thursday, March 15 in a doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m.
