Herman named MIAA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

For her efforts during the Scots spring break trip, Sr. GK Stephanie Herman (Bay City/All-Saints Central) was named the Defensive Player of the Week by the MIAA on Monday afternoon.

Herman totaled 45 saves in the season-opening road trip, finishing with a 53.0 save percentage to help the Scots open the season 2-2.

In a 9-8 victory over Puget Sound on February 25, the Bay City native collected 12 saves while playing in all 60 minutes.

In Alma's most recent victory, a convincing 18-6 win over Linfield on February 28, she tallied three saves while only playing in the first half.

Herman is the first Scots player to win a Defensive Player of the Week honor this season with the last being So. D Emily Reverman (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge), who earned the distinction in 2013.

The Scots return home on Thursday, March 6, to take on Wilmington College (OH) at 2 p.m. at Bahlke Field.
