Holmquist named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for Women's Lacrosse

After helping the Scots earn a 20-4 victory over Defiance College on Saturday, Fr. D Ali Holmquist (Canton/Plymouth) was named the MIAA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday morning.

Holmquist led the Alma defense with three caused turnovers and added four groundballs in a 20-4 home victory over Defiance College on Saturday.

The freshman is the second Scots Women's Lacrosse player to earn POTW honors, joining Sr. GK Stephanie Herman (Bay City/All-Saints Central) who earned the distinction on March 3rd.

On the year, Holmquist has seven groundballs and five caused turnovers in six matches played.

Alma (5-4) is idle for 11 days before hitting the road to take on Adrian College on Wednesday, April 2nd. The contest is the first conference match for the Scots this year and is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
