Scots Baseball drops a 9-6 decision to Ferrum (VA) on Wednesday afternoon

The Alma College Baseball team played their second game of the 2012 season on Wednesday afternoon, when they took on Ferrum College (VA) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Scots dropped a 9-6 decision to the Panthers, evening their record to 1-1, while Ferrum improved to 9-2 thus far this season.

The Scots finished the day with six runs on five hits and two errors, while the Panthers had nine runs, 11 hits and one error in their win. Jr. IF Ryan Henris (Saginaw, Mich./Nouvel Catholic) went two for three, with a double, a triple and two runs batted in for the Scots. 

Sr. 1B Micah Parshall (Benzie, Mich./Benzie Central) had a hit and two RBI's, while So. IF/OF Alex Kravat (Bay City, Mich./Bay City Western) added a run scored and an RBI. So. C/OF Bryn Ludlow (Attica, Mich./Lapeer East) had a run batted in as well.

On the mound, Sr. P Anthony Derrer (Mancelona, Mich./Mancelona) went 6.1 innings, giving up eight hits and six runs, and took the loss on the afternoon. So. P Kevin Thompson (Petoskey, Mich./Petoskey) went the final 2.2 and allowed three runs on three hits.

The Scots will continue play in Myrtle Beach on Thursday afternoon, when they take on Manhattanville College (NY), beginning at 3:00 p.m.
